SORBA Woodstock Chapter Meeting Minutes
9/15/08

John Hicks opened the meeting with thanks to Free Flite Bicycles for the delicious chicken dinner they provided for tonight’s meeting. Dan Thornton’s son, Daniel, was the host.

The Grand Opening Festival for the VMT is ready to go. We have bike shop demos provided by OutSpokin’, Free Flite, Cycleworks, unicycle.com and Yeti. MTB Fellowship will provide hydration drinks and trail side photos.

Bill Blount continues to do a great job with graphics for this event and other chapter needs.

Lisa Randall has agreed to be the race director again for the Second Annual Dirty Duathlon. She asked for volunteers and said she needs help with sponsors.

On October 4th Alan and Marcia Gibson will conduct and Intermediate/Advanced Skills Clinic. A $20 fee for each participant will be donated to SORBA Woodstock. This will
be done the same day as Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day, but there should be no conflict.

We are still looking for a group ride coordinator to help with our plan to alternate work parties and group rides from month to month.

John Hicks gave an update on the Greenprints Project. A four mile loop of mountain bike trails is planned for the south side of Little River at Rope Mill Park. When the money is available the City will hire Pro Trails. There are also plans to build a bridge across the river and eventually connect those trails with Blankets Creek at the South Loop.

We continue to target next spring for building the South Loop extension—technical lines and some downhill, probably a one way trail.

The Reinhardt MOU will be signed soon. The College wants to keep the trail challenging.

Election of officers will be coming soon.
