Costume Ride on 10/30 at noon

There will be a group ride on Dwelling on Sunday, 10/30, at 12:00.  Wear a costume and have some fun.  Meet in the skills area at Blankets Creek by noon, and the ride will proceed from the skills yard.

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day on Saturday, Oct. 1st, 10am-1pm

Join us to celebrate IMBA's National Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day on Saturday, Oct. 1st, from 10am-1pm at Blankets Creek.  There will be group rides for adults and kids of all ages and skill level beginning at 10:15 in the skills yard, followed by competitions and games at 11:30.  There will be hamburgers, drinks, and hotdogs for participants, and there will be some prizes to competition winners.  Free-Flite Bicycles and Out Spokin' Bicycles will be present for this event, so come out for a day of fun for the whole family. 

This event will be followed by Jump Jam at Quehl Holler from 2pm-5pm.  Everyone is invited to come watch this event, and expert riders are encouraged to participate with a highly recommended full-face helmet.

Women's Int/Adv Skills Clinic hosted by Lisa Randall

On Saturday, September 24th, Lisa Randall will be conducting a women's intermediate/advanced level skills clinic from 9am-noon at Blankets Creek.  This clinic will work on skills such as cornering, braking, climbing, and riding obstacles, and a group ride on South Loop will be included.  Participants should be able to ride South Loop in at least 45 minutes, and space is limited to 20 women.  The clinic is being presented free of charge by Lisa Randall, but a $20 donation to SORBA Woodstock is requested.  Email events@sorbawoodstock.org to reserve a spot.

Blankets Creek will be closed this Saturday, 8/13, for Race to Sunset

The first ever Six Hour Race will be held at Blankets Creek this Saturday, August 13th.  Online registration ends this Thursday at 10pm, but you can also register on-site before the race on Saturday.  Please read all information about the race and registration at http://www.mountaingoatadventures.com/blankets6hour.  This race is a production of Mountain Goat Adventures by Lisa Randall, with support of her title sponsors.  A portion of the proceeds will be dontated back to SORBA Woodstock to support trail building and maintenance at Blankets Creek and Rope Mill Park. 

All trails at Blankets Creek will be closed all day on Saturday, 8/13, to prepare for and conduct the race.

August Chapter Meeting at Blankets Creek on Monday, Aug. 8th

Join us this Monday at 7pm at the Blankets Creek kiosk for our monthly chapter meeting.  We will be disussing many exciting things, such as trail building plans and the upcoming Race to Sunset Six Hour Race at Blankets.  Bring your lawn chair and hang out to find out what is going on with SORBA Woodstock.  Everyone is invited to attend.

July Trail Building Party at Blankets Creek on 7/16/11

There will be a trail building party this Saturday, 7/16, from 8am-12pm, at Blankets Creek.  Tools will be provided, but volunteers need to wear closed toe shoes and gloves.  Bring plenty of water, and if you are allergic to bees, then you will need to bring an epi pen.  Lunch will be provided to volunteers.

July 11th chapter meeting, group rides, and bike demo by Free-Flite Bicycles

On Monday, July 11th, join SORBA Woodstock for the July chapter meeting at the kiosk in the Blankets Creek parking lot at 7pm.  Food will be provided by Free-Flite Bicycles, and there will also be a bike demo by Free-Flite Bicyles before the meeting from 3pm to 7pm.  Everyone is invited to attend, so bring your lawn chair and come find out the latest news with SORBA Woodstock. 

Prior to the chapter meeting at 6pm, join us for a beginner/intermediate level group ride that is open to all ages and skill level.  Meet at the kiosk at Blankets at 6pm with your bike, helmet, and water to join this group ride.  Then, stay for the chapter meeting at 7pm after the group ride.   

After the chapter meeting, there will be an advanced level group night ride on South Loop at 8:15pm.  Meet at the kiosk at Blankets at 8:15pm with your bike, lights, helmet, and water.  You should be comfortable with South Loop to join this group ride, and you need to bring appropriate lights.

Chapter Meeting and Group Ride on Monday, 5/9

Join us at Blankets Creek on Monday, 5/9, for an int/adv group ride at 6pm, followed by our monthly chapter meeting at 7pm.  The group ride will begin promptly at 6pm from the parking lot.  The chapter meeting will held at the clubhouse, which is located next to the parking lot at Blankets.  Please park at Blankets Creek and follow the path over to the clubhouse.  Food will be provided to attendees by Hunter Ramsey from Prudential Financial.
