June Traffic Count

We purchased bike traffic counters and have them installed on all three of the major trails to get a more accurate count of how many bicycles are using each trail and at what time of day. June was the first month we had full data for and the numbers are below.

This is the overall count of each trail

This is the traffic by day

This is the traffic by hour over the 30 days

Guys, this is great stuff - keep up the awesome work with stats - so cool to see what the breakdown is on each trail and time of day! I always specualted the S. Loop was far less traveled than the Dwelling and this confirms it with data. Great stuff!

I know nothing about "bike traffic counters" but the wording used in the description doesn't seem quite accurate of what the data seems to be showing.
The description says "more accurate count of how many BICYCLES are using each trail ". There are probably riders that do more than one lap per ride. Assuming this counter is tracking how many times an object is going thru a certain spot in the trail, the data probably shows a more accurate count of how many LAPS of each trail, not how many bicycles.
No matter, the data is still very cool to see! Thanks for sharing!

Our old way of counting bicycles was by a car counter that each vehicle rolled over entering the parking lot, so by far this is a more accurate count of bicycles. Other than standing at the entrance counting each bike this is about as accurate as we will get.
