Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 12:41PM The Woodstock Chapter along with the RAMBO & Gainesville Chapters will be joining SABA cycling club to ride the Jackrabbit Trail System on Saturday, November 7th. We will be meeting at Blankets Creek Parking Lot at 8am. The Jackrabbit Trail System is 100 miles away near Hiawassee, GA in North Carolina. We will carpool/convoy to the Jackrabbit Trailhead and be RTR at 10:30. The Jackrabbit Trail system is 15 miles of rolling contour trails. It will take approx 2 hours to ride. We will be grilling out for lunch afterward. More details to follow soon...
UPDATE: We will be bringing a grill with us to Jackrabbit. If you want to grill out, bring your own food. We will be meeting in the Jackrabbit Mtn Parking Lot at 10:30am RTR.
Driving Directions to Jack Rabbit Trail System:
Use your own preferred internet direction program (google maps, mapquest, etc) to get you to Hiawassee, GA. Once if Hiawassee, GA follow these additional directions:
From Hiawassee, on Hwy 76, take Hwy 75 north at the traffic light (see McDonald's on the corner)
Stay on Hwy 75 and cross the GA/NC line and Hwy turns into Hwy 175
Pass Ho Hum Campground/RV Park on the right (slow down here)
Turn left on Jackrabbit Road.
Go approximately 1/2 mile, turn left just past the Philadelphia Baptist Church

Is anyone camping the night before or the night of the ride
OK - where are the details to follow - Who is griling? Someone bringing grills or are going over to the campground?
